3D Lashes: Better Than Falsies?

Hello there, I am back to mascara lovin'. I was recently contacted by a company, you might have heard of, called YoUnique. They have a variety of products but one of their bestselling items is the Moodstruck 3D Fibre Lash Mascara, something I myself have heard of before. This is an innovative mascara that gives you that false lash effect without using any fiddly lashes. The product claims to add both thickness and volume to your existing eyelashes. Keep reading for some exciting deals and a chance to earn some money. All that good stuff will be at the end of this post.

Not that I have a problem with falsies, my issues with false lashes lie in their application, it's tricky and requires patience I don't possess, plus with false lashes you can obviously tell on most that they are in fact false. Individual lashes are better and definitely more subtle, but even trickier to apply so I'm of the persuasion that would prefer investing in good mascaras to mimic the effect of false eyelashes as well as further strengthen my own lashes simultaneously. With 3D Lashes you get just that.

With all that being said, long lashes are a must have for almost every girl. It's all over the red carpets, it's even considered a part of Essex culture. Lashes are a staple already. With celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Cheryl Cole almost never seen without lovely long flirty lashes, it's no wonder that everyone is clamouring for eyelash extensions and reusable falsies. But fear not, because if long lashes are one of your favourite things, this product may just answer your prayers. . .

I am a sceptic, definitely a cynic in most things, so when this product I arrived I had low expectations. I expected a good mascara but nothing that stood out from the rest. I was mistaken, it's simple and easy to use and comes in a cute box which I intend to use for my glasses in the future. The packaging is sleek and simple, who doesn't love black?

I curled my eyelashes first, I think this is an important step for everybody if you want those dramatic full lashes: never skip the curl. A quick curl has a huge impact on your mascara application. I used Primark eyelash curlers which work just as well as any others I have tried and only cost a pound. Then I applied a single coat of the mascara to see if one coat would have any effect. It did.

Here are some tips and tricks that YoUnique sent me. They have instructions and advice for you, just so you can make sure that you are applying it correctly. Don't worry I will talk you through my application next, anyway!

How To Use:

When applying the mascara start with one eye, coat lashes well with the Transplanting Gel and while it is still WET add the fibres from mid lash to the tip (not from the root). Avoid getting too close to your lash line as the fibres may fall into your eye and cause some irritation, it is not dangerous however as the fibres are natural. Repeat the same steps on the other eye and then when you're happy with how your lashes look give them a minute to dry and seal your hard work in place with a last coat of the Transplanting Gel. You can repeat the process adding extra layers of fibres between coats of the Transplanting Gel until you get the desired effect. Simply ensure your last coat is the Transplanting Gel which will seal everything in place.

Special Benefits:

The mascara is an all natural product. The Transplanting Gel contains both collagen and beeswax which helps promote healthy long eyelashes. The fibres are also completely natural and made from Green Tea leaves. It is suitable for sensitive eyes (in most cases) and for those of us who wear contacts, like me!

For me, a quick scrub with my every day facial products worked fine, but then I only applied a single coat. If you apply more or generally experience difficulty in removing eye makeup like mascara then invest in a good eye makeup remover and using a damp cloth/tissue or even just warm water to run over your eyes before cleansing your face. This should make it easier to remove.

So you can more clearly see the comparison between the difference one coat of Moodstruck 3D mascara and several coats of other good mascaras, here is what my eyelashes look like with a few coats of Benefit's Bad Gal mascara, and below that is me eye completely free of makeup.
