I wanted to do an updated foundation routine for you guys, because I have recently been using the Laura Mercier Flawless Fluide Foundation in Buff. If you read my posts, you know that I am completely in love with the L'Oreal Lumi Magique foundation, I cannot recommend it enough, it is so good but I finished my bottle a few weeks ago and thought it was a good time to work through my other foundations, and the first one I wanted to get rid of is the Flawless Fluide.
I wanted to get rid of it because ultimately it was unimpressive at first. The packaging gets dirty really fast. I like the sleek black bottle and I don't mind shaking it before use but it is exceptionally hard to keep clean as you can see below. That is after I wiped it clean with a facial wipe.
After using it daily for weeks I have finally figured out how to make it work for me. I made the mistake of using coloured powder on top of the foundation because I have oily skin and I can't implore you enough not to do that. It makes your face feel clogged with makeup, so I constantly touch my face effectively removing both the powder and the foundation so it has disappeared by the time I return home.

The way to apply it, is shake it well, squeeze a small amount onto your hand and use your favourite face brush, I alternate between the buffing brush and expert face brush by Real Techniques and just work it into the skin. Lightly dust a translucent powder over the oily areas and you're done. The foundation has good coverage, doesn't feel heavy and wears really well through out the day. I have used it so much that it is now virtually finished and I am a little sad. Aside from the packaging, I would recommend it, although there are plenty of more affordable drugstore foundations of great quality if you are on a budget.
Let me know what you would like to see in future posts. If you would like a Top 5 affordable foundations I would be happy to get that up for you. Thank you so much for reading, my exams start next week (wish me luck because I am going to need it) but I will continue to post, I am aiming for twice a week during exam period. Thank you for your patience and don't forget to comment and follow. Take care.
