Surprisingly enough I don't own many concealers. In fact, I have just four that I use and I love them to varying degrees. The first concealer and the only concealer that I consider a can't-live-without product is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19), the only downside to this concealer is that there are just four shades available. It is a brilliant product for covering blemishes.
The first concealer I ever purchased was the Boing Industrial Strength Concealer (£17.50) from Benefit Cosmetics. I love this concealer, it is one of the only products I have hit pan on. It's quite tacky, which makes it easy to apply. You just take some on your ring or index finger and cover the dark circles under your eyes. Gently blend out by patting the area. I have this in the shade Medium.
Next up is the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer (£26.50). I bought this on a high-end splurge in Space NK and because Carli Bybel went through a stage where she used it in every tutorial and always looked flawless. I have a love/hate relationship with this concealer. I like it, because it's suitable for both highlighting and concealing blemishes on the face because of the two shades in the palette, but I also don't reach for it very often. A little goes a long way with this concealer, and similar to the Boing concealer it has a drier formula so is quite long-wearing and doesn't move once set. This is a concealer I only open when I am going to a special occasion that I feel warrants a more expensive makeup routine. I have this in the shade SC-5, as pictured below.
Last but not least, is the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer (£8). This is the perfect lightwieght highlighting concealer and it blends seamlessly. The only problem with this concealer is that it is such a cult beauty favourite that it can be difficult to get hold of. I would suggest purchasing it online, because in the drugstore they sometimes only stock the bestselling shades. For that reason, I have it in the shade Light, but again it's such a thin and blendable formula that it doesn't even matter if you are one or two shades off. One of my absolute favourites, Collection and Maybelline far surpass the high-end concealers in my collection.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post. What is your favourite concealer? I have heard good things about the Vichy concealer and Makeup Forever HD Concealer, more recently everyone has been talking about the Naked Skin concealer, so I would love to hear what you would recommend.
