The Naked Smoky released this July has taken the beauty world by storm, this gorgeous palette in hazy plastic packaging with twelve metallic shades is already out of stock. The demand has been understandably high. It retails for $54 or £37. Nine of the shades are exclusive to this palette, the other three will be available separately (Radar, Armour and Black Market). Thy have some seriously gorgeous colours in here, which are very hard to find anywhere else at least in a palette form.
This next palette is different in many ways so it is not an exact dupe, but if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the Naked Smoky with a similar range of colours then this Lily Lolo Enchanted Eye Palette (£20) - unfortunately this is no longer available - may be the palette for you. You save £17 as it is almost half the price of the Naked Smoky. There are 8 shades available in this palette.and it comes with an applicator wand rather than a dual ended brush. Scroll down for swatches.
Here are the Urban Decay Naked Smoky swatches, the shimmers in this palette are very intense and beautiful. As a breakdown: High is a champagne shimmer with micro-glitter, Dirtysweet is a medium bronze with gold micro-glitter, Radar is a metallic taupe with iridescent micro-glitter, Armor is a metallic silver-taupe that almost looks purple when swatched with tonal sparkle, Slanted is a light metallic grey with iridescent micro-glitter, Dagger is a medium charcoal with less intense micro-glitter, Black Market is a jet black satin, Smolder is a satin deep taupe-plum, Password is a matte cool taupe, Whiskey is a, Combust is a matte soft pink-taupe, and Thirteen is a light beige satin.
Here are the Lily Lolo Enchanted Eye swatches. In comparison, the shimmers are not nearly as intense. As a breakdown: Wishbone is a matte ivory shade, Moonbeam is a peachy nude shimmer, Entranced is a taupe grey shimmer, Voodoo is a demi-matte petrol grey-green colour, Mirror Mirror is also a demi-matte rich grey shade with silver shimmer, Thunderstorm is a matte petrol blue shade, Deadly Nightshade is a demi-matte dark purple, and lastly Spellbound is a matte dark brown. I imagine if used wet Spellbound would appear almost black.
As you can see from the photos of the swatches only a few shades actually act as dupes, such as the grey shades, Deadly Nightshade for Smolder; Wishbone for Thirteen; Spellbound for Dagger. Overall, this palette comes nicely together and would work wonderfully as an alternative to the Naked Smoky palette if it isn't in your budget. Let me know which one you prefer. I can't deny that the chances of me getting the Naked Smoky palette are undeniably high.
Unfortunately, the Lily Lolo palette is no longer available but fear not, Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky is a dupe as well and that is available for purchase, you can purchase this for anywhere from £13-21 and $20 in the US.
