It is officially December which means it is now actually acceptable to be excited about Christmas, you can bust out your favourite Christmas tunes and your so-festive-its-awful jumper and feel no shame. Th start of December means the end of November so let's chat about what I have been loving this past month.
This is the Golden Sugar Blush Palette (£6) from Makeup Revolution, I have many thoughts on this palette which I will share with you in a more detailed post later this week. However, one thing I adore about this is the lovely warm golden copper shade that you can see below second from the right. It is the most stunning colour for on the eyes, it would make any iris sparkle. I use my index finger to swipe it quickly on my lids and it catches the light in the prettiest way.
I have tried the Urban Decay Perversion (£17.50) mascara before and have been left feeling underwhelmed. However, if you want instant lashes then this is a good mascara for you. I take it with me to work and when I get the chance run it through my lashes for a few seconds and it makes my eyes look better. They don't render your lashes overpowering, although you can build it if you do want more drama. The formula is quite wet so I always wipe the wand with tissue before using it on my lashes, which you might consider wasteful but it does the trick.
Quick makeup is an essential for me, I have been trying out the Maybelline Better Skin foundation in an effort to see whether it will improve my skin after three weeks of continued use. For days where my skin needs an extra oomph, more coverage and a bit of life. I use my Hello Flawless (£23) powder in Toasted Beige with a dense kabuki brush and use this to blend all the products on my face seamlessly into each other. It literally makes your skin look flawless, you can see a clear difference. You can even wear it alone without any other face product and look a million times better.
This isn't a specific product, but eyelash curlers are invaluable to me. I recently found mine again, they are a simple inexpensive rose gold pair from H&M, when I use them I can see a clear difference in how my mascara looks compared to the times where I skip this all important step. There are so many eyelash curlers out there and I have tried many, Primark, H&M, Shu Umera and Kevyn Aucoin, honestly I don't see a difference between any of them. I think eyelash curlers would make a great gift and these embellished curlers from Tarte (£12) would look really glamorous on Christmas Day. I think any girl would be happy to see it under their tree.
Finally, the Pro Curve Powder Contour (£4) brush from Makeup Revolution. I love using this to place my contour powder or bronzer underneath my cheekbones and on my nose. It fits perfectly into the natural contours of my face and if you're really pushed for time you can use it to blend too.
One last favourite that has nothing to do with beauty is tobogganing, I went to the Snow Dome with my work peeps and had a cracking time. I was genuinely terrified, the people that had been before had me convinced it would be carnage and I would end up soaked and injured best case scenario. It was a doddle and tonnes of fun, I was completely dry at the end of it. I could have continued for days and not get bored, the entire experience has me desperate to go on a real skiing holiday where I can throw myself down a mountain with gusto.
Thank you so much for reading, hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know your favourites in the comments below. Happy December! Take care.
