Foundation Friday | Rimmel Match Perfection

I love to try out new foundations especially the more affordable ones because you never know what gem you might discover. Last week, I found this Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in BodyCare for £4.99. I recently saw Zoella use this in a makeup tutorial and the coverage and blendability looked so good on her that I felt it would be a shame not to try it.

Invisible, weightless, smooth texture
Keeps skin hydrated
Soft focus qualities that help blur imperfections and pores

It's not cakey at all, it has a very thin formula
Blends easily and quickly
Lasts for a decent amount of time
Has 12 shades to choose from

The coverage was unimpressive to me, nothing spectacular. I honestly think because Zoella has such a tiny face that I misjudged how amazing the coverage would be.
The foundation lasts for about six hours, that's not long enough for me
It is a more hydrating foundation and as someone with oily/combination skin I wouldn't repurchase this foundation.

Overall, it is a perfectly fine foundation, it didn't wow me and in comparison to other drugstore foundations I have used (i.e. L'Oreal Infallible and Maybelline Better Skin) it didn't impress me. I had high hopes, so I am a little disappointed, I would recommend this foundation to people with drier skin. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post! Don't forget to comment. Take care.

  1. This was so helpful as been debating whether or not to buy this for a while. x

  2. I have skin that is on the drier side so this might work out for me, but I do love full coverage. The Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation and the Wake Me Up foundation are supposed to be full coverage, so I'll probably try those Rimmel ones instead. Thanks for the review, otherwise I would've probably bought this!

  3. I've just reviewed this on my blog too! I thought the coverage was good for me and I like this better than the wake me up :) XXX
