It's Valentine's Day tomorrow, of course, which means there are thousands, if not millions, of makeup tutorials out there to show you how you can look pretty and sweet or vampy and sultry. This makeup look straddles both lines, in my opinion, it is fun and colourful with vibrant purple and pink tones but also quite natural with nude lips and a fresh base. I think Carli is a queen and recently created this look when I attended a birthday party a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I had a cold and a Dad who is too impatient to wait for me to take selfies before we leave. Go figure. So read on to learn about the products I used to create this beautiful purple look (I'll include the original products Carli used as well). The overall effect is very soft and romantic perfect for a date and the eyes draw the most attention which is where I would want the focus to be. But, I mean, you can always contour your boobs if that's where you want to direct the attention.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance is my favourite primer of life, I always start my bolder looks with this product and then typically I follow with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk but I wanted to try something different. I have seen many a YouTuber use a black base for their eyeshadows and they really make the colours laid on top pop so I tried this with my Kiko Black Long Lasting Pencil, it is truly matte and very black. I applied the stick messily to the mobile lid to just under the crease.
Then using Discreet and Framed from the Vice 4 palette to blend out the edges, I also applied Framed on the inner corner and brow bone. Using a flat brush I patted 1995, a gorgeous shimmery magenta purple all over the lid, then I went a little crazy and added a mish mash of Underhand and Pandeomonium until it looked more purple. I wasn't quite happy with the result and wanted more depth and intricacy, so I went in with Beatdown, a vivid deep blue shimmer and some more of Underhand, topping it off with a final dab of 1995 and I got this gorgeous multi-tonal look. Using Black Velvet eyeliner from Urban Decay on the upper waterline to make my lashes look thicker, and a nude eyeliner from Rimmel on my lower waterline so my eyes look more awake. I was so ill that day. I curled my lashes before applying Lash Sensational mascara, and used a tiny bit of Better from Vice 4, a warm terracotta shade, on my lower lash line and in my crease to add some warmth and recreate the sunset look Carli created.
I hope you enjoyed this look, I think it is simply stunning for any occasion. I will quickly be putting together another post of Valentine's tutorials or even just photos of makeup looks for inspiration as I know that is the hot topic at the moment. Personally, Valentine's Day is going to be a day of packing and blogging for me, so I can schedule posts while I am in Thailand! Enjoy your weekend. Take care.
