Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Palette 2 Rose Gold Edition

Golden Sugar 2 Palette Rose Gold Edition

Golden Sugar 2 Palette Rose Gold Edition (swatches)
Makeup Revolution's much beloved Golden Sugar Ultra Blush palette now has a sister, the Golden Sugar 2 Palette Rose Gold Edition (£6). I possess the original Golden Sugar palette and although I have mentioned it briefly on my blog in a haul and a favourites post, I want to explain how I feel about the first palette. I do like it, but not as a blush palette. In terms of quality, it is not super pigmented and it doesn't last very long on my skin at all. I think it works better as a highlighter or as eyeshadows, I love the coppery shade as an eyeshadow it is stunning and as long as the lid is primed with concealer or some sort of base it should last for most of the day. A lot of the colours are very shimmery and the powders themselves have a lot of fallout, the colours are lovely and for £6 it is not bad at all.

Original Golden Sugar Ultra Blush Palette
I have a feeling Golden Sugar 2 will be more of the same, this palette looks slightly peachier in tone to me, perfect for summer and as a person who is ridiculously excited about the upcoming Sweet Peach releases from Too Faced, I do love the colour range I see here as well. Like the original palette, the darker shades are more pigmented and I do think these colours would work better as a highlight or to layer on top of your blush, but that is just my personal opinion. I am undecided as to whether I will be buying it at the moment, it doesn't scream Rose Gold to me as the title would suggest, but the colours are nice and summery. What are your thoughts on this palette and the original Golden Sugar Palette too? I do read all the comments and reply when I can., so please share your thoughts below. Thank you so much for reading, I hope you are having a great day. Take care.

Love ♥

  5. It looks like a pretty palette, and as a blush lover I want it already! But I agree that I don't know why they called it rose gold, it really doesn't look rose gold to me. I think they're jumping on the trend a little but maybe I'm cynical!

    1. I completely agree, I think calling it the "Rose Gold Edition" is just a clever marketing strategy, it does look pretty and the colours can easily be used on the eyes as well. Thank you so much for commenting, I am a massive fan of your site!

  6. I've admired the original Golden Sugar palette in store a number of times, but have always been concerned that it would be too shimmery for my liking as a blusher. I have MAC Stereo Rose & that verges on too shimmery for me to use on a day to-day-basis. The shades of both palettes are lovely though! Xx
