Nikkie Tutorials has collaborated with Too Faced to release a brand new makeup collection called Power of Makeup. In this collection, there is a palette, a glitter, an eyeliner, a limited edition purple Better Than Sex mascara and a tube of Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The entire collection will be available next month. In the US, this collection will be on sale August 15th, in the UK we will see it in stores from August 28th in Debenhams and in Sephoral Europe it will be available to purchase from September 1st. The entire set retails for $56 which is shockingly good value. The most exciting piece in the collection for me is the palette, have a look at the swatches below.
L-r: Ivy, Sugar Coated, Frosted Yum, Irresistable, Painkiller, Makeup & Chill, Mystic Hour, Wham Bham and Wanted
The eyeshadows look insanely pigmented and at first I wasn't convinced by the colour range but after hearing Nikkie talk about it I think the colours are gorgeous. You can see the swatches above, you get nine shadows in total. Four mattes: Ivy (matte creamy white, created for pale skinned girls like herself), Painkiller (the perfect transition shade), Makeup & Chill (another crease colour, ideal for blending) and Wanted (an intense matte black). Five shimmers: Sugar Coated (beautiful frosty baby pink), Frosted Yum (true silver shimmer), Irresistible (the perfect shimmering true gold), Mystic Hour (blue/green/teal shimmer) and Wham Bham (gorgeously vibrant purple). The shimmers look almost foiled and metallic, I can't get over how beautiful they are.
Blushes left to right: I Will Always Love You and Justify My Love
Nikkie chose her two favourite blushes from the Too Faced line and she chose the very orange I Will Always Love You and the doll pink Justify My Love. She mixes them together to create the perfect peachy blush, the blushes look more suited to paler skinned people. I personally wouldn't suit either of these blushes as warm tones rosy coral shades suit me best but they are still beautiful and you could use them as eyeshadows if you don't want to put them on your cheeks.
Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and Champagne Truffle Highlight
Similar to the blushes, the bronzer would not even show up on my skin it is far too pale but again you could use it as an eyeshadow. It would make a great transition shade like Painkiller but slightly warmer. The highlight is actually from the first ever Chocolate Bar palette, but it is now in Power of Makeup as a full sized highlight. It looks a lot pinker in the palette, so I am very impressed at how this swatched. It looks like it would be flattering on most skin tones.
In addition to the palette, you also get a glitter. This glitter is called Gliterally, the name originates from Nikkie mispronouncing "glittery" at the start of her YouTube career. She describes it as a transformative glitter that you can put on top of any eyeshadow to make it sparkly and more glamorous. It looks very pretty on the skin and I think works well with the colours in the palette.
Too Faced released their Sketch Markers not too long ago, and as part of her collection the black Sketch Marker is included. It is a black felt tip liner that Nikkie compares to the legendary Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. We all know how much Nikkie appreciates a fierce and fabulous wing.
Last but not least, you also get a travel sized Better Than Sex mascara in a limited edition purple colour. Purple is Nikkie's favourite colour, and mine, so I really appreciate this detail. It makes this collaboration extra special. Moreover, one of my favourite Too Faced products the Shadow Insurance Primer is also a part of this collection. It's just my favourite eyeshadow primer, it works well for me.
For $56 that is an amazing deal, you get so much. To put it into persepctive, currently in GBP that is £42, thus the same price as the Modern Renaissance palette. If you like anything I would get your hands on it if you can. Past experience with collaborations like these with social media stars tell us that this limited edition collection will sell out ridiculously fast. All the websites will most likely crash and everyone will go potty on eBay buying one travel sized mascara for £200. Those are just my predictions. Below you can watch Nikkie talk through her entire collection on her channel.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post. I would love to hear what you think of this extensive collaboration. I am quite impressed with everything so far and I can't wait to hear what everyone else thinks about it. I haven't made up my mind yet if I will buy it as the blushes and bronzers really wouldn't work at all for me, but the eyeshadows look very pretty. Take care.
