Every girl deserves a good pair of straighteners, they are the ultimate hair tool especially for girls/guys with long hair, such as me, Irresistible Me kindly reached out to me a while back and asked whether I would like to try out this hair tool: The Diamond Styler ($149). Being completely honest, I want to begin by letting you know that I am pathetically low maintenance when it comes to my hair. I wash it only when I absolutely have to and rarely, if ever, use any type of hot tool, but I saw that it was bright red and looked super cool and jumped at the chance. So here is my review.
I have quite long, thickish hair, naturally wavy, which can be a pain to do anything with. One thing to take note of is that I did need to buy an adaptar because it has a US plug (as it is sold in the US). I bought the adaptar at Poundland so fear not it won't break the bank. The Diamond Professional Flat Iron is called so because it claims to possess extra special technology in the form of "crushed diamond particles mixed with tourmaline" that will protect your hair against damage and ensure the longevity of your style. Thus far, I have only used it to straighten, or flat iron, my hair. I am curious to see how well it curls. There are quite a few features in this particular hair tool that appeal to me and make it stand out from the rest. First, and most obviously, the gorgeous colour. It's just fun and cute and I love it.
On a more serious note, the Styler heats up to 230°C. The straighteners I own already do that, but it does heat up very quickly and there is an LED screen where you can see and adjust the temperature to your preference. Again, my current straighteners, which I have had for about five years do that too so onto what is quite impressive about it. The straighteners are very slim and lightweight, great for travel. It comes in a lovely box, would make an excellent gift (Christmas is coming people!). Something that is especially cool is that the exterior is heat resistant and there are cool grips on the actual tool to avoid any nasty burns. I always burn my fingers/ear/back of neck/soul when I am using any type of hot tool. Normally, I use a glove to protect my hand but I love that with this you don't really need to. The buttons and adjustable settings are all inside the tool, beneath the plates so you don't accidentally turn them off mid-hair sesh. Overall, I don't have a bad thing to say anything. They are good straighteners, smooth and easy to use and you can get super straight sleek hair or wavy/straight hair. I find that the style lasts until my next wash, but that is typical for me.
The only downside is the plug is a little annoying if you are not in the US and the shipping can take a long time (approx 4 weeks) according to their website, but if you are in the market for a new pair of straighteners then I would highly recommend these. Overall, they are incredibly well thought out, if they could make them cordless I would be in heaven. They do shut off automatically after a while as well so no more worrying about whether the house is going to explode on your morning commute. I am really happy I got to try these, plus my sisters's favourite colour is red so she appreciates the striking colour. I really do think they would make a great gift. Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this review. I would love to know what hot tools you use or any style tips you have as I am so crap at doing my hair. Let me know in the comments! Take care.
