Tarte have released two brand new palettes! If you have Snapchat and/or Instagram then you'll know that Tarte Cosmetics took their team and a handful of digital influencers to Bora Bora to celebrate the release of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Palette (£39) and Tarte Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette (£33). Tarte is a little more difficult to get in the UK, but their website does ship internationally and you can get other products on QVC UK. Tarte Cosmetics are also sold on Sephora for those of you residing in other countries.

Eyeshdow and contour are my favourite steps of any makeup look so you can say I am excited about these new goodies. Let's start with the eyeshadow palette first because my God it is massive! It is £39 with a total of 20 eyeshadows, 16 are in the square shape and these are all matte. Yes, you heard right, 16 total shades are completely, gorgeously matte and the remainding four in the circular pans are ultra-pigmented creamy shimmers. This palette is crafted for the every day and I have to say I am extremely impressed with the swatches I saw on the snap video. They all look very creamy, blendable and so pigmented. Typically Tarte shadows can be quite hit and miss with their eyeshadow palettes but I think in the recent year they have stepped up their game.

The palette includes 16 longwearing matte eyeshadows infused with Amazonian clay for smooth blending and flake-resistant wear. Key ingredients in the formula, highlighted on the Tarte website are: Amazonian Clay (nature’s most perfect ingredient for better, longer, truer wear); Mineral Pigments (soothe and soften skin); and Vanilla Extract (a natural fragrance with rich antioxidant and anti-aging properties). Their formulation appears to be specific to their brand, they do contain talc.

Here is a shade breakdown of all 20 eyeshadows: Classic (cream), Innocent (soft peach), Whimsy (brick), Smoked (dark brown), Ethereal (bronze), Vintage (ivory), Fierce (cool plum), No Filter (purple mauve), Vamp (deep plum), Glam (champagne), Chic (pale pink), Profesh (taupe), Mod (deep cherry), Drama (maroon), Minx (shimmering mauve), Indie (greige), Bold (light brown), Edgy (chocolate), Punk (black) and Trendy (prismatic teal). Minx, Trendy, Ethereal and Glam are the four shimmers in this palette. I love all the colours, I think it is a gorgeous every day palette with enough variety to create an endless amount of gorgeous evening and playful looks.

Onto their next release: Tarte Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette (£33). This is a highlight and contour palette, obviously, but there are both powders and creams in this palette which reminds me of the Sleek Highlight palettes. All shades have a cool undertone to mimic natural shadow and light and the ingredients are actually good for you, such as Amazonian Clay (nature’s most perfect ingredient for better, longer, truer wear); Mineral Pigments (soothe and soften skin); Vanilla Extract (a natural fragrance with rich antioxidant and anti-aging properties); Coconut (delivers intense moisture and is known for its antibacterial and conditioning properties), Vitamin E (a natural preservative that also works as an emollient and antioxidant); Shea Butter (a natural emollient known to help retain skin elasticity and protect against degeneration).

There are 6 shades to highlight and contour with: Lit (champagne highlight); Strobe (pearl highlight); Fire (bronze highlight); Stunner (opalescent highlight); Shade (cream contour); Sculpt (powder contour). There are five powders in total, all the highlighters are a powder formula as is the Sculpt contour. Shade is the only cream in this palette. You can see swatches on light and dark skin below.

This is turning into such a long post, but I wanted to give you an in-depth look at each palette all in one place. I haven't seen a highlight/contour palette like the Pro Glow with a mixture of contouring and highlighting powders with a cream contour shade thrown in for extra pleasure. I am impressed by the concept of the palette, it feels like they designed this to truly be the only highlight and contouring palette you need which I appreciate. It has something for everyone and for all those that like going full glam strobing and contouring for the Gods this would be the perfect companion.
