FIRST LOOK | NEW NARS SOFT MATTE COMPLETE CONCEALER COMING JANUARY 2017

New Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer Coming January 2017 Furst Look and Details. IMAGE SOURCE
Stop the presses because Nars are launching their brand new concealer in January 2017. The news has slowly been circulating and details of this new product are slowly coming to light. The new concealer is going to be called the Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30) and will be available in a total of 16 shades. I imagine as time goes on Nars will add further colours to the line, like they did with their groundbreaking Radiant Creamy Concealer. Just from the picture above the new product reminds me a lot of the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, although surely nothing can be as pigmented as that! I have tried to find out all I can and will add to this post as more details emerge.

I just paused midway through a Carli Bybel tutorial when she introduced a brand spanking new concealer from Nars. Yes Nars. The same Nars that created the much raved about Radiant Creamy Concealer are releasing a new concealer in January 2017. This concealer however is very different. Not only does it not come in a tube with a wand applicator but it is housed in a pot with a screw-top lid (not my favourite packaging) and it is claimed doesn't need to be set with powder. Shut the front door. The shade range of the new Soft Matte Complete Concealer pots correspond conveniently to the Radiant Creamy Concealer range making it easy for fans of their previous concealer to pick up and try out a new one. There isn't too much information on the new concealer available right now, but like I said I paused the Carli video so I could do some research and find out what's the tea. Keep reading.

This high coverage matte concealer is supposed to be a lightweight formula with amazing coverage that won't settle into fine lines or wrinkles. It will contain hyaluronic acid to keep the skin looking plump and fresh, not dry and cakey. It is also said to have built-in powders and a totally matte, but not dry, finish, meaning you can skip the powder. Although, for me, setting my face is a force of habit so I don't know if I will be able to do that.

“NARS’ highest coverage concealer yet delivers natural natural-looking coverage in an oil-free cream formula that blurs, concealers and smooths imperfections with its soft-focus smoothing complex. Optimal Diffusion Powder helps maximize light diffusion with spherical surface powders designed to absorb and refract light with a powerful optical effect. Instantly transforms the look of skin to help blur imperfections. Advanced powders created with a unique, interwoven structure lay flat while staying connected for the highest level of coverage with the lightest touch. Resists settling into fine lines and pores. Collagen-boosting peptides smooth and reduce the appearances of wrinkles and pores. Hyaluronic acid helps to hydrate, soften and plump the skin for a healthier-looking complexion. Antioxidant Daily Defense delivers a cocktail of Vitamin A, C and E for environmental defense.”

It sounds like a pot of dreams and will be available to purchase from January 1st for $30 on the Nars website. From what I have read it sounds like a small but mighty product. A great addition to your handbag as you can pat a little on as and when you need it throughout the day. I am curious to see how long lasting it is and Carli Bybel, herself, did say that it wasn't as thick as the Radiant Creamy Concealer and it looks full coverage in the tutorial. The look she used it in is pictured below and I will link the actual tutorial in the caption so you can have a look yourself. It's a beautiful look.

Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' and other social media. Take care.

What are your thoughts on the new Nars concealer, will you get it?

8 STEPS TO HELP YOU FEEL MORE LIKE YOURSELF WHEN YOU'RE OFF YOUR GAME

Genuinely, this eternal darkness is really starting to get me down. I have to choose between a much needed lie-in on a weekend or getting up in the freezing cold to take some semi-decent pictures. Guess which one I did today? You got it, sorry, but I slept pretty well. Tomorrow I am going to get my act together and get some good photos, rain, wind or snowstorm.

As most of you know I am recovering from a cold, almost there thank goodness, and just in general I have had a pretty shitty month, mood-wise, I have finally decided enough is e-bloody-nough. Time to pull myself up, whack on a smile and get my shit together. If any of you guys are feeling down in the dumps then here are a few things to get you back to feeling like the best version of yourself on your road to recovery (from illness, a break up, or any knockback, I got chu girl or boy).

WASH YOUR HAIR
Hardly genius, but there is nothing I hate more than washing my hair, but it is a necessity. As much I love a messy fun bun, there is something slovenly about having hair that is 40% dry shampoo and 100% unattractive. It makes me feel like crap because I look like crap. No one should look as bad as they feel unless it can't be helped. So wash the hair, treat yourself to some leave-in conditioner and go about your business. Or if that's not going to happen try and make your  bun a little cuter than normal.

FRESH NAILS
Paint your nails properly. I mean the whole shebang, clean them with remover ensuring they are spotless. Cut and file as appropriate, put down a base and two coats of your chosen shade and finish with a top coat. Give them plenty of minutes to dry, I usually like doing my nails while watching a makeup tutorial or an episode of Modern Family. Do your feet too and you'll feel somewhat human again.

BE A LITTLE PRODUCTIVE
Do one productive thing. This could be anything, something really small like making a Christmas shopping list. Go see your grandparents, call a sibling, clean the house, take photos for your blog (cough cough I'm such a hypocrite) anything at all that makes you feel like today was not a waste.

EAT WELL
Stop eating shit. The more junk food I eat, the worse I feel. It's an endless cycle as the lower my mood the more convinced I am that chocolate will totally make me feel better. It doesn't. I feel even worse and more often than not I didn't even want the stupid chocolate in the first place.

CUT THE CRAP
Not talking about junk food anymore, I am talking about people, about clothes you're never going to wear again, makeup way past its expired date. Get rid of all the shit. Clean it all out. Not only does this count as being productive - bonus points - but you will feel so much better with a clean space.

CLEAN SHEETS
Changing your bedsheets makes such a difference, it's like the first step to changing your life (dramatic much). Nothing smells better than freshly laundered sheets and hey if you're still not feeling yourself take a nap. Go to bed a little early, soak in the gorgeous scent and wake up ready to start again.

UNPLUG
I don't mean read the latest Byrdie article that you found on Twitter, I mean put away your phone and your tablet and all of those other nonsense distractions for just an hour and sit down with an actual proper book and just read it. Social media is a large part of my blog so I would never judge anybody for being attached to their phone and social media. It's just part of the parcel these days, but you will feel such a difference if you unplug yourself for just an hour. You don't have to read, take a nice bath, pamper yourself, try out a cut crease, write a new post in a notebook, play with your neice. Just enjoy being alive and having the choice of whole hour where you can do what you want.

3 WORDS: AT HOME WORKOUT
Anyone can go to a gym and piss about on a treadmill, but doing a workout at home takes dedication. There are so many things you can do and you'll feel a hell of a lot better. Do a high intensity workout for just fifteen minutes, take a cold shower and you'll feel unstoppable.

Hope you enjoyed this short post, thank you for reading. I really appreciate it, Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin', it means a lot to me. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I will have a lot of beauty posts up next week, both hauls and reviews so get excited. What helps you feel better after a knockback?

TOP MAKEUP PICKS | A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE

Happy Thanksgiving! The Christmas Guides are rolling out at breakneck speed right now and I understand it can be a tad overwhelming, so instead of introducing you to all the brilliant gift sets that are on the market right now (of which there are many and I am sure you've all seen most) I thought I would do a Slightly Different Christmas Guide. I chose my six favourite makeup brands and picked four of the best products from each that anyone would love to open under their tree. They might not be the biggest, most extravagant or expensive but they are all genuinely beautiful products I personally love. I hope you find some inspiration or at least a nice gift for yourself.

MAKEUP FOREVER
MUFE is such a beautiful brand. Their base products are truly stunning, high end, great quality and long-lasting. The first, and this is such a surprise to me, being the Step 1 Equaliser Radiant Primer Peach (£24) this is the best primer I have ever tried. It makes your skin look instantly more even, pretty and fresh. I could totally skip foundation with this. My next picks are the Water Blend Foundation (£27), finding a transfer-proof foundation is such a struggle and this one is a buildable formula with great lasting power even for the oiliest skin. I love applying it with the Makeup Forever 156 Flat Round Brush (£26), it is a fluffy blush brush and creates a stunning, streak-free application. Lastly, the Pro Light Fusion Highlighter (£26.50) is the most gorgeous glowy powder highlight you can find, very natural looking and radiant. I like the shade Golden best for my skintone.

TOO FACED
I might be the only one that doesn't care for TF limited edition releases, as pretty as their Christmas collections look they have some gorgeous products in their permanent line that consistently get overlooked. If you have combination skin, the Born This Way foundation (£29) will knock your socks off. They have a great shade range as well as stunning packaging. The Mr Right Perfect Powder brush (£30) is the prettiest brush on the planet, I would buy 700 of them in a heartbeat. Last but not least, these are two of my favourite Too Faced eyeshadow palettes, they are small but mighty, if I had to choose I would grab the Natural Matte Palette (£32) over the Natural Eyes (£32).

ZOEVA COSMETICS
A Christmas Gift Guide without some Zoeva is simply unheard of. These are what I would buy for myself, starting with the Cocoa Blend Palette (£18) and the Rose Golden Volume 3 Brush Set (£75), both items I have been lusting after since the dawn of time. They are so exquisite. For anyone with a hefty makeup  collection the Zoeva Makeup Tote Bag (£42) would make a fantastic gift, it just keeps everything nice and tidy and ready to be whisked off to Paris at the drop of a hat. Last but not least, the Cream Concealer Spectrum Palette (£18) with 9 shades is such a versatile gift, it can be used for concealing, colour correcting, contouring and even foundation.

URBAN DECAY
One of my all time favourite brands, their eyeshadow palette releases are something I look forward to every year, but this year they branched out a little and impressed more than just as eyeshadow addicts with  their brand new super full coverage All Nighter Foundation (£27). Just look at that bottle. Their Beached Bronzer (£20) with the palm tree packaging makes me think of the film The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, plus the actual product is divine: matte, blendable, soft and beautiful. As for the 2 eyeshadow palettes, Naked Smoky Palette (£38.50) looks the most seasonally appropriate. There is something for everyone in that palette and although  I am not personally tempted by the Ultimate Naked Basics (£38.50), everyone who has it seems to really love it.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS
How I love ABH Cosmetics, yet another brand who have really stepped it up this year. Forget about their world famous brow range for a second and focus on possibly the biggest palette of the year: Modern Renaissance (£41) it's just every warm-toned lover's dream. The perfect palette. Thank God it is permanent. On a similar note, Anastasia dipped her toes into the world of stick foundations creating the only matte Stick Foundation ($25) I am aware of. Moreover, just like they monopolised the brow market, the amount of glow kits that were released this year was simply mind-boggling. Out of all of them, the Sweets Glow Kit ($40) is the one that caught my eye. It looks so gorgeous in photos and on all skin tones, it is unlike any other highlight kit I have seen and yet still manages to be wearable. Of course, if you love highlight and it seems  many of us do then investing in the #23 Illuminator Brush (£24) is a worthy spend.

TAM BEAUTY
Makeup Revolution and I Heart Makeup are both fantastic brands, they make great affordable products and I think we all secretly, or not so secretly in my case, appreciate the dupes they create. They are always doing the most and these fairly new products are all gorgeous gift ideas. The Precision Oval Brush Complete Section (£45) comes in a gorgeous gold shade and looks ridiculously good, this is their take on the popular Artis brushes and when you consider one brush is about £45 and you can get 8 for £45 that really puts things into perspective. Another incredible dupe is the Ultra Eye Contour Palette (£8) which obviously takes inspiration from the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Palette, which is the only product I really want from the Kat Von D line. Sticking to the eyes, the Chocolate and Peaches Palette (£8) from I Heart Makeup is a dead ringer for the limited edition Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. I am a big fan of all the IHM Chocolate Palettes, so this one is a welcome addition to the popular range. Last but not least their HD Cream Contour Palette (£10) which is often compared to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit is so creamy and pigmented. I first saw it on Kaushal Beauty's channel and was instantly impressed by the colours.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful in some way. This post is not sponsored in any way, these are just the brands I tend to gravitate towards when buying for myself and others. I feel like this time of year is so focused on Christmas gift sets and limited edition products that we forget about the products we have had our eye on the rest of the year. I much prefer buying things that are permanent because then if you fall in love with it at least you can re-purchase it. If you would like any other Gift Guide, maybe one for a lower budget (apologies for how high end this turned out to be, it wasn't intentional) or even one for skincare then let me know in the comments. Please follow me on Bloglovin' and Twitter, my links are all below. It means such a lot. Take care.

What do you like most out of all the products in this post?

20 THINGS I HAVE LEARNT BEING A BEAUTY BLOGGER

1. Magazines are a godsend when you can’t find something rose gold, marble, or a candle as a backdrop for your photos.

2. Your background can never be too white, bright or blinding. Fact.

3. It is possible to get tired of the words ‘pop’, ‘creamy’, ‘buttery’ and ‘fleek’. Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable that we make up our own words.

4. I have never met an adverb I didn’t like. And I will never apologise for it. So kindly fuck off Jane.

5, It is impossible to feel pretty all the time, or look perfect all the time. If I could live my life in pyjamas and a messy bun, makeup-free, I would be eternally happy.

6. You might never be the best, but that doesn’t mean you should stop trying.

7. Everything you need to know about me is in my iPhone. Seriously, without that thing I am useless.

8. Writing is the easy bit, it’s everything else i.e. the photos, promotion etc. that is the real work.

9. It is likely, even common, to feel a wave of genuine affection for someone you’ve never met just because they left a nice comment on your post.

10. Spam is a daily occurrence and it’s annoying. If you’re going to send me an email please learn my name and actually read my blog first, that is all I ask. Oh, and don''t insult me. It's rude.

11. The brand/beauty blogger relationship is more tumultuous than any boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. I have been ghosted so many times, sometimes even by the same company, you would think I would have learnt my lesson but no. A PR person comes along with an offer that sounds almost too good to be true, we exchange emails and discuss payment and details. I get hella excited and . . . they drop off the face of the Earth. Leaving me feeling like the needy, cloying girlfriend that’s left feeling lacking in every way. What did I do? Bizarre, hell, maybe that’s why I’m single.

12. The money you spend on your blog > The money you make from your blog. This might only apply to me, but blogging is just a serious hobby for me at the minute and I am completely inept at most things that would actually get me some dollaz.

13. Struggling with incorporating new products into your beauty routine because you wear the same three products every day can make reviewing the massive Beauty Bay order you made at 5am last week a tad difficult.

14. Online shopping is both the worst and best thing that has ever happened for me.

15. Your Storage is Almost Full and You Have Used 80% of your data appears so often throughout the day that sometimes I see it when my eyes are closed. Thanks EE and Apple, I get it, I should get off my phone and talk to live beings.

16. The constant deliberation as to whether you should get the eye-bulgingly expensive Cannon camera and take the plunge into YouTubedom coupled with the endless hours researching the best DSLRs for blog photos and videos eventually makes you break into a cold sweat. And then you close all the browsers and stare at your iPhone lovingly: What would I do without you?

17. Impulse purchases. Like the two soft boxes I bought when I decided to start YouTubing properly and then realised I am awkward enough in reality as it is. Do I really need the entire world to have the opportunity to see that? Nah, not until I am at least 10% prettier.

18. Not having your shit together is not an option. One must at least appear as if one has their shit together. Sometimes that means taking a day off work just so you can wash your hair.

19. Pretty books look damn good in photos. Better than magazines, in fact. No one’s saying you actually have to read them.

20. Having a list of all the post ideas you want to write and choosing one is like picking a favourite child.

Thank you for reading, I am so sick right now. Full blown case of man flu going on, so if you would like to cheer me up please consider following me on Bloglovin'. It would mean so much, if you can relate to any of these please let me know in the comments. Really hope you liked this post. Hope you're enjoying your week and not feeling as sick as me. Kick Tuesday's ass. Take care.

What have you learnt blogging, or about blogging?

BACK IN STOCK | BECCA X JACLYN HILL CHAMPAGNE COLLECTION FACE PALETTE REVIEW & SWATCHES

Back in Sock! Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette on Sephora Today Review
Jaclyn Hill just announced on her Instagram that the Limited Edition Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette will be available again on Sephora today! I can understand why with this gorgeous white and gold packaging, I don't think I have seen a more festive-looking beauty product, it would look right at home under a Christmas tree. I really thought I had missed the boat on this product and that there was no point in my uploading a review on it because the ship had long since sailed, however, it looks like Sephora has my back. So now I know that they are re-stocking it I can feel a little better about waiting six months to post this review. Apologies for the wait, guys.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette Review and Swatches - Worth The Hype?
I pre-ordered this face palette back in June via Space NK, it was blowing up everywhere and I just had to see what the hype about Champagne Pop was. Everyone I know praised that highlight to the high heavens, it was going down in history as the highlight to end all highlights. When I first got the palette, news of the new Champagne Split Pans broke and people were understandably upset, not to mention. the controversy surrounding the eyeshadow palette. It all just left a bad taste in my mouth and this palette sat by unused while I ummed and ahhed about whether to just use it in a giveaway. After some gentle persuasion from some fellow bloggers like Shireen from Reflection Of Sanity, I realised £48 was a heck of a lot of money so I owed it to myself to play around with it. I took the requisite photos for the blog and then gently tried it out over the following months.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette Review and Swatches - Worth The Hype?
I want to start by saying that this is probably my favourite packaging of any product ever. The white bouncy texture of the palette, the heftiness, the gold dots in a circular arrangement: genius. It is so beautiful and looks gorgeous and pretty and I can't praise whoever thought of this concept enough. Stunning. Really innovative and a break from all the traditional rose gold (which of course I still love) and sleek black. Becca really impressed me with this packaging, I own nothing else from them and out of their entire line this is the best looking item in their collection. Such a shame its limited edition, because if all their packaging was like this, oh my God, I would buy it all. In a flash.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette Review and Swatches - Worth The Hype?
Inside the palette you get 2 blushes - Pampelmousse and Amaretto; 1 blush topper - Rose Spritz; and 2 highlights - the well loved Champagne Pop and the new Prosecco Pop. The palette in total costs $52 or £48, each highlight pan is 0.19oz, each blush is 0.12 and the blush topper Rose Spritz is 0.10oz. I haven't tried anything else from the Becca line so unfortunately can't comment on how they perform in comparison to their original  single pan/permanent products. Nevertheless, let's dive into the swatches. As always, all swatches are done with one swipe of the finger and no primer.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Face Palette Swatches (from top-bottom): Pampelmousse, Amaretto, Rose Spritz
Pampelmousse (blusher) - bright warm pinky orange blush, the least used shade for me out of this whole palette. The finish is satin, although it looks matte in the pan. It is very pretty, just a little much for me as I find blush quite intimidating. I definitely prefer muted tones, in general the formula and pigmentation are both excellent. It's just the colour isn't my cup of tea. Amaretto (blusher) - muted warm rosy blush colour, almost mauve-brown in tone. My favourite out of this whole palette, this is the first thing I tried and something I continuously dip into. One of my all time favourite discoveries this year, the most gorgeous blush for olive/medium skin tones. Again a satin finish, it just gives a really healthy glow and lively flush to your cheeks without looking clownish or unnatural. Very beautiful. Rose Spritz (blush topper) - warm rosy pink with gold frost, initially I didn't think I would use this at all. When would I ever want a metallic sheen on my cheeks? But using it on top of Amaretto adds a nice touch especially when going to event. I love using it on other people. It's not as glittery or harsh as it looks swatched, if applied with a light hand it can be extremely flattering.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Face Palette Swatches (from top to bottom): Prosecco Pop and Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfectors
The most anticipated aspect of the palette are most likely the two Shimmering Skin Perfectors included, especially the newly created Prosecco Pop (highlight) - yellow gold shimmery highlight with strong yellow undertones. The highly popular Champagne Pop (highlight) is also included - champagne gold shimmery highlight with a dash of warm peach. Some have said that the Champagne Pop is stronger in this palette than it is in the single compact, but I haven't tried it alone. I want to talk about these two together because highlight is something I struggle to love. Most of them are too glittery, sparkly, shimmery. I find a lot of formulas highlight texture and just sit on top of my skin, it isn't until I have blended them away to nothing that I feel comfortable leaving the house, so honestly I'm not a fan. If I had to choose I would say I prefer the Prosecco Pop, I find the colour slightly more flattering on me. All in all, they are still both very similar. If you love a strong highlight you will love these, I prefer something a lot softer that lends more of a sheen.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette Review and Swatches - Worth The Hype?
All in all, I can't deny that this palette would make the most gorgeous gift. If you are considering purchasing it as a present for someone, by all means, get it. It is too lovely not to and they can always return it, if it's not for them. If it is for yourself, consider your preferences and what you will use. I can admit that I do not regret purchasing this palette at all, I have used all the shades as I do makeup on other people on occasion and it is really lovely for weddings. Truly, the only thing I love about this palette is Amaretto, it has fast become my Holy Grail blush, I feel I can wear this shade on my cheeks and nothing else and look slayed for the Gods. It is a stunning shade and formula, I would even pay £48 just for that blush and this exquisite packaging, but if I was only going to use makeup on myself I would have been happy with the Amaretto-Prosecco Pop Shimmering Split Pan ($28). Thank you so much for reading, hope you enjoyed this rather late review. Take care.

Do you have/want this palette?

WORTH THE HYPE? | TARTE SHAPE TAPE CONTOUR CONCEALER LIGHT MEDIUM REVIEW

Worth The Hype? Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Light Medium Review and Quickie Blending Sponge
I purchased the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer and the Quickie Blending Sponge (£27) from QVC, they still have the same deal available where you can get both for £27. Alternatively, if you are just interested in one of the products the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (£19) is available here and the Quickie Blending Sponge (£13) can be bought here. The shades available on the QVC website are limited so bear that in mind, I chose the shade Light Medium. More often than not, these concealers are constantly selling out. Why? Because they are so massively hyped by all the beauty "gurus" I watch. In short, the reason they are so popular and highly praised are due to the insane amount of coverage it offers. Shape Tape is marketed as a do-it-all concealer, it will brighten your under eyes, cover your blemishes, chisel your cheekbones. You can use it for anything and everything. It is cruelty free, gluten free (never heard this in relation to beauty products before) and vegan.

Worth The Hype? Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Light Medium Review and Quickie Blending Sponge
The packaging is gorgeous, it is quite a bit larger than all the other concealers I own. You get 10ml of product which is the same for the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. The wand is also considerably thicker and bigger too. The formula is quite thick but creamy and oh my is it pigmented, for that reason choosing the right shade is important. Light is far too light for me, I wish I had gone for a darker shade. Just a single dot underneath my eyes is enough to eradicate any darkness or discolouration. I honestly do think it is the best concealer I have ever used, in terms of coverage. Your dark circles will be history if you use this, it is incredible. The concealer contains ingredients like sunflower seed oil and shea butter, so although it is thick it doesn't feel drying beneath the eyes at all. I haven't noticed it creasing, but that is not something I have an issue with normally. I'm not sure I would say that it has knocked my Collection concealer off the top spot just yet because although I appreciate the full coverage it is not a necessity day in and day out for me.

Worth The Hype? Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Light Medium Swatch and Review
You can see above and below, that is just that one swipe of concealer blended out. I think it could cover my whole face! The great thing about concealer is that no matter what shade you get you can adapt it to make it work for you. The way I use it as I just dot a little in the darkest crevice by my eye and blend it out with the Quickie Sponge. My favourite technique with this concealer is blending out with a sponge, whether it be the beauty blender, miracle complexion sponge or the quickie sponge. A short summary of my thoughts on the Quickie Sponge is that it works great, but I don't like how angular it is. I prefer other sponges based on this as both the Miracle Complexion Sponge and OG Beauty Blender have a rounded edge and I like that dimension to my sponges.

Worth The Hype? Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Light Medium Swatch and Review
Overall, this concealer really impressed me. It is probably the best I have ever used. If you struggle with covering your under-eye circles and faff around with colour correctors I strongly recommend trying out this concealer. It is unbelievable how supremely full coverage it is, yet it still blends easily and lasts all day. I can't personally attest towards how it works for contouring, I would suggest using it very sparingly as it is so pigmented but I don't have a single bad thing to say. I would happily pay £19 for this because it knocks any other concealer I have tried out of the park. It is a little much for everyday but it can easily be sheered out, I like mixing a little with my eye cream and using it under the eyes to sheer out the product. It is such a beautiful concealer. If you have yet to find a concealer that ticks all boxes I urge you to give this a try. Thank you for reading. Take care.

What is your favourite concealer?

8 THINGS TO DO BEFORE 2017

I recently came across this article by Free People entitled: 10 Things You Need To Do Before 2017. I enjoyed the post and wanted to make my own, less about self-fulfillment and cleaning out the cobwebs ready for a new year and more about making the most of this year. So here are 8 things I would like to do before 2017 arrives. Please share some of your own ideas in the comments below, I am open to suggestions. This post isn't sponsored in any way, I just thought it would be a fun idea.

SEE AS MANY FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE
Your friends are your friends for a reason, no matter if they annoy, disappoint or even enrage you at times. If you still want to see them and care about what happens to them, let the negativity and the not-so-lovely memories just slip away into the ether and start afresh right now. Plan fun activities together that you actually do instead of just talking about it. I have come to realise how important friends are, because when the shit hits the fan they are usually the ones you turn to for comfort. I truly believe that the people you surround yourself with have a direct impact on your mood and personality, so be sure that they are a positive influence. If they aren't: walk away.

Lately, I have been obsessively reading articles about all the amazing places in the UK, here is my favourite: 14 Unique Things To See and Do in Britain, Genuinely, the best article I have read this year, I found it on Bloglovin' Travel and am so happy I clicked on it. Before reading, I hadn't heard of a single one of these places and they look divine. So it is on my 2016 Bucket List to see at least one of these places. I am partial to the Enchanted Forest and skiing in the Scottish Alps. Here are 2 other similar articles I liked with more options: Places You Won't Believe are in the UK and 18 Places To Visit in the UK. Let me know what appeals to you in the comments or if you have been to any of the places mentioned before too. There is so much to see right on our doorstep: explore.

TAKE/PLAN AN IMPROMPTU TRIP
My impromptu trip is happening in January, after the Donald Trump news came to light. I realise that seeing The White House while he is President would tar the whole experience for me so my sister and I booked a spontaneous visit to the US in January so we can see The White House a week before Trump should be sworn in, we are also going to LA and Las Vegas so I am excited although it's going to be a lot in a short amount of time so I will probably be exhausted when we are back. For this year, I am going to Iceland in December which will be awesome, this has been planned for a while though. I highly suggest doing some travelling before the year ends if you have the time and the cash, even if it is just a weekend away. You will feel so much better for it

SEE A PSYCHIC I.E. STEP OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE
This one is quite personal to me, I am somewhat of a sceptic but try to be open-minded and this is always something I have wanted to do out of curiosity but have never had the balls to follow through. Mostly because damn they expensive, but I really want to do this and soon. Generally, it is less about seeing a psychic and more about stepping out of your comfort zone. Most people think sky-diving or other life threatening activities when they hear "step outside your comfort zone", but there is a lot you can do that won't put your life in danger that will suffice, for instance baking. Who even knows you might discover a new talent, so have a think about it and share with me.

GO TO A CHRISTMAS MARKET/DRINK A LOT OF MULLED WINE
Obviously, it's obligatory for everyone surely. For me, Christmas markets are overhyped and overpriced but I am still going to go. Most years I skip it, but when I visit London I do go, so I feel it is only fair to visit the ones closer to me too. In London, I like Winter Wonderland and the South Bank Festival. I live closer to Birmingham so that's another one I can go to. Generally, just do as many Christmassy things as possible. Bring me all the mulled wine.

THINK ABOUT YOUR RESOLUTIONS AND START DOING THEM NOW
Probably the only person who still makes resolutions, but I think they are awesome. You should never stop trying to improve and be a better version of yourself. So to people who scoff at me and say what's the point, they are a waste of time: I don't care. At least I am still trying, I would hate to feel like I have given up on myself so I urge you to make at least one. Even if it is something little or silly. One of my resolutions will be to start writing a journal again. I used to do this when I was younger but every time I have tried to since it can be such a downer when I read back what I have written. It tends to be mostly negative so writing consistently in a journal would be great for my writing skills and also a way for me to work on my mindset which can skew on the negative side occasionally. Plus, it's an excuse to buy another notebook or put one of the many I  own to use.

TREAT YO'SELF AND BUY SOMETHING SUPERFLUOUS
I have wanted a fancy camera for eons now, for blogging, for life, for potentially making videos, but I have perpetually talked myself out of it because they are expensive, confusing and I have no actual space in my home to dedicate to photography. I take my pictures in the garden at the crack of dawn because my Dad doesn't even know I blog, I just don't feel like explaining it to him. It is something I constantly think about so I am hoping to make the plunge this year, I might try a "vlogging" camera as they seem to be more portable, but if you have any recommendations please let me know. A camera is still, for me, technically for work and not myself. So I would still buy something I want just because I want it and I work hard and am fortunate enough to be in a position where I can buy myself nice things. I haven't decided what I want, but that's half the fun.

MAKE A CHANGE
Cue Michael Jackson song. This is probably the most la-dee-da (yes, I stole that from Homer Simpson) out of them all, but it takes 21 days to make or break a habit, allegedly. Last time I checked we still have more than 21 days left until the clock on 2016 runs out so this could be your shot to get into the habit of anything. See that sunrise, start yoga or reading the news, take up knitting, so many options. There are so many changes I want to make that I don't know where to start.

Thank you for reading this post, I hope you liked it. I will have a beauty post for you on Friday, in case you are missing them. It will be a review of the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. Please follow me on Bloglovin' if you like my posts, I get quite a lot of visitors on my blog (I have been using Google Analytics) but I need you guys to actually follow me so I can see who you are and make more posts that you like. It would help me out a lot, I work so fucking hard on my blog. Seriously, it takes up so much time but I love it. I just want to know that you all love it too so please follow or sign up to Bloglovin' if you haven't already and follow my blog, not my profile, or both. Thank you. Take care.

What do you have planned for the rest of 2016?

Love
Kiran
