November Beauty Recap: Makeup, Beauty, Skincare and Body
Slightly different this time around because November has been a month of trying new things. If I am honest I think in the blogging community favourites is a word that has been tossed around willy nilly. Just because I have been reaching for a product a lot in recent weeks doesn't mean it has become my favourite product, if that makes sense. I was rummaging through my collection picking out disappointing products and noticed that a lot of them I had actually included in past favourites posts. I feel like such a fraud, so in future I want to be more mindful about what I actually recommend because the truth is the first month you get a product it could be gorgeous and then lo and behold a few weeks later it is unrecognisable. So instead of what I have been loving, here is what I have been using and I think in future I will be sticking to these kind of posts, if you guys like it of course.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation in Sand (£28) At first I didn’t like this at all, the dropper dispenser alone is enough to make me want to toss it out the window, but after watching a Huda Beauty tutorial I realised you are supposed to shake it first. This makes a huge difference as a lot more product is emitted after shaking it. I think this is an unspoken rule for all water-based foundations (to shake it first) so apologies I am so late to this party. So far, I have found it to be impressively long-lasting. I will have a full review coming as I have only just figured out how to properly use it.

Bare Minerals Ready Foundation SPF 20 (Ready to Go Palette - £35) Had to include this as not only have I been using it for a few weeks now but I also bought a backup from TK Maxx for my forthcoming travels to Iceland and USA. It is the perfect palette for anyone with combination to oily skin. It’s a do-it-all-got-your-back palette, the finish of the foundation is natural, matte and buildable. Mineral foundation is such a gorgeous everyday foundation it never looks heavy or overdone and if you build it the end result can be pretty flawless. One con for this palette is in the winter it can make your skin feel a bit dry, I find throughout the day I will touch my skin because it feels like it might be dry, especially around the mouth area but to the touch it is velvety soft and smooth. It doesn’t look dry at all, it might just be dehydration.

ABH Modern Renaissance Palette (£41) When I can be bothered to wear eyeshadow this is pretty much the only palette I have been choosing. It has a lovely range of neutrals and I particularly like Antique Bronze as a lid colour. Such a gorgeous eye-catching shimmery neutral, I usually blend Burnt Orange and Warm Taupe in the crease and if I want some extra drama I will add Cyprus Umber to smoke things out. It is a really beautiful palette, even without primer these last a fairly long time on me.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
RCMA No Colour Powder (£10.50) My most recent addition, this I have been using non-stop for the past week and so far I am impressed. I have yet to try baking with it and I want to try it with more glowy/radiant foundations to see how it holds up. One of the most astonishing qualities I have found on this powder as it just feels like nothing on the skin. I am someone who touches their face all the time and in the last week I have noticed a reduction in that and I think it is because of this powder.

Good Things Spa Argan Body Oil (£5) Not much to say, I like applying an oil to my skin before foundation and occasionally I mix it with my liquid foundations. It’s a nice oil, I like it because it is inexpensive but I don’t think it is a good skincare product. My skin hasn’t changed/improved at all. Applying extra virgin olive oil on my skin overnight makes a massive difference in comparison to this product. A good affordable beauty oil if you are looking to just sheer out your foundation.

Good Things Restoring Argan Oil
Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial Oil (£46) Now, I only have a sample of this oil and I don’t use it night after night. I throw it on when my skin feels a little dry and I fancy a more luxe product than something from the kitchen shelf. I really like this oil, I like the scent, the texture. It goes on nicely, a little goes a long way and my skin feels nice and smooth in the morning. I don’t think it is worth the price tag, but then it claims to improve pigmentation, fine lines, plump the skin (you know, the usual *rolls eyes*) so if it does do all that then by all mean buy it. But, let’s be honest, I don’t think it does do all that.

Nude Detox Brightening Fizzy Powder Wash (£38) You all know I love exfoliating products and this is no exception. It’s not necessary but I do enjoy using it. I haven’t ever used a product like this. It is actually a powder and you tap some out on your hand and apply it onto your damp face in circular motions. I add a bit of water first to soften the texture as it is quite gritty. Even my hands feel crazy soft after using this product. It is recommended to be used two to three times a week, I use it every day. That’s how much I like it. It is like using baking soda, but it smells nicer and feels gentler. I have't noticed a brighter complexion yet though, a little sceptical about that claim.

Radical Skincare Express Delivery Enzyme Peel (£35) I got this the second Sam from Pixiwoo recommended it on her channel. It is like a bright pink jelly, so weird, and you scoop a bit out and apply it in circular motions onto your skin. It takes about four or so minutes to work and eventually it will start to pill and scrub away the dead skin. It’s a fantastic product, I have used a similar one from an Australian brand (Ice something??) in the past and I prefer theirs as it doesn’t take as long to work, the Radical product is excellent but my hands hurt three minutes into the application process. It’s probably just me, I am so impatient. You can get it on QVC for £32 here.

Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Fruity Liquid Moisture Lotion (£10) The winter months are so here and I need to start taking care of my skin. So I am making an extra effort to lotion up every time I leave the shower and this has been my moisturiser of choice. I am not too crazy about the scent, it’s a little fruity for my tastes and I prefer sweeter softer scents, but it is enriched with moringa oil and feels beautiful on the skin. It isn’t runny but glides on effortlessly and takes no time at all to rub it, I think it gives my skin a pretty glow too and although it isn’t my favourite scent from their line the fragrance is not overpowering nor does it linger, it just leave a very faint beautiful sweet orange scent on the skin

Vaseline Original Petroleum Jelly (£2) Like the last one this is all about taking care of myself. I have been putting this on my feet, a week of applying this and your feet or any dry area really is transformed. I know this is usually what people do in the summer when they are about to parade around on beaches in sandals and flip flops but I want my feet to be palatable all year round. That being said, I hate feet. All feet. I even hate typing the word feet. Ew.

Thank you so much for reading, I would love to know what you have been using this past month. As mentioned, I am going to be away a lot but have been working really hard to get posts scheduled for when I am away. So please please please follow me on Bloglovin' if you aren't already as it will be genuinely impossible for me to promote my posts in Iceland as my hotel doesn't have wifi (I will sure as hell try though). All following me does is show you when I have posted, you don't get any alerts or emails or anything like that. You just sign up to the site, you can even sign in using your Facebook details and then search for my blog by typing in the URL in the search box or just click this link here and click follow. The next time you log in you'll see the posts you have missed in your feed. Super simple, easy and convenient. It is what I use and I follow over 2000 blogs on it, it is a really great platform. So do check it out if you haven't heard of it before it is a fantastic way to discover more bloggers. Hope you have had an awesome week guys, don't forget to leave a comment. Take care.

What products were you using in November?

  1. Never tried any of these, but always wanted to try the ABH Modern Renaissance palette and RCMA no color powder. Everyone talks about them in superlatives. :)

  2. Wow, I can't believe I have actually never tried any of these products before except for the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. I use it on my feet too. I have heard many good things about the RCMA No Colour Powder but as I don't bake, not sure how useful this will be to day. Great round up.

  4. I need to try that RCMA powder because so many people rave about! I love Overnight Facial and I love the sound of that Radical scrub. Great post! xx

  5. Radical products get really terrible reviews on Sephora so I was never interested in trying them at all especially because the price is way up there. I think I have used a similar peel from THEFACESHOP which works wonders and for a small fraction of the price.

    1. Really?! Definitely need to check that out! Xx

  6. Really enjoy the honesty (and healthy scepticism) of your posts.

    1. Hahahaha thank you, this comment really made my day! xxx

  7. Haha @ I hate all feet. I would like to try the no colour powder, looks and sounds good. I started using the La Roche Posay Effaclar H moisturiser in November and it has made such a difference to my skin. xx
