It is St Paddy's day! Last night, I was feeling equal parts bored and inspired, instead of eating just for the sake of eating which is what I tend to do in those situations I thought I would play around with some makeup instead. It is disgusting how much makeup I own and how little I actually wear, so hopefully if you guys like it and if my shoddy photography improves we can keep doing this. Apologies for the quality, pictures were taken late last night with my iPhone in my bedroom.
The main feature of this look is this gorgeous Irish green (see photo below) on the mobile eyelid which is from the Morphe Brushes x Kathleen Lights Palette (review post here) . I used a mixture of the neutral matte browns in the Kathleen palette and the reddish orange shades in the ABH Modern Renaissance Palette (review post here). Specifically, 'Realgar', 'Venetian Red' and 'Burnt Orange'.
Now to go into more detail, here is a full list of products used on the eyes. The eyelids were primed with just concealer, Maybelline Age Rewind, and a dusting of translucent powder, RCMA No Colour Powder. I started with the crease first using the medium brown transition colour from the Morphe x Kathleen palette and gradually added touches of red and orange reminiscent of a sunset (sunset looks are my favourite) from Modern Renaissance (£41). Using a small flat synthetic brush, I applied the lightest shade from the Morphe palette onto my inner corners and 'Tempera' from Modern Renaissance as my brow bone highlight. I skipped winged eyeliner as I love the contrast of the rich grass-like green against the brown of my eyes and added 'Burnt Orange' on my lower lash line. For mascara I used L'Oreal Telescopic in Carbon Black (£11) and Benefit's Ready Set Brow gel (£20).
On the face, I primed with the Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer (£30). The foundation I chose to use was the Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation in Golden Tan (£42 - see last post for review here) as it photographs well and looks really nice for the first few hours you have it on. For concealer, I swiped on Maybelline Age Rewind in Light (£8) under the eyes, around my mouth, bridge of nose, beneath the hollows of my cheeks and a little on my chin. I blended all the base in with a Bdellium tools stippling brush. To set, I applied a heavy layer of RCMA No Colour Powder (£12) and baked.
For cheeks I used the Barry M Cosmetics Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit in Dark (£6.50 - see review here), I didn't apply any blush but did add Champagne Pop (£32 - see review here) on the high points of my face (i.e. cheekbones, above the brows, bridge of nose, cupid's bow and centre of the mouth). My favourite highlighting brush is the Body Shop Point Highlighter Brush (£12). To finish, I used NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'London' (£5.50). I have had this for ages but never opened it and now I am obsessed. It feels like nothing on the lips, dries down completely matte and is such a flattering nude for people of my skin colour. I dusted off the excess powder et voila.
This is the final look, please share in the comments if you did or didn't enjoy this post and let me know if you prefer to have products linked with prices mentioned or not. Adding links to every product takes time so if you do or don't like them I would love to know - no affiliate or sponsored links are in this post btw. Forgive me for the weird colour of my skin thanks to the lightbulb in my bedroom. At this current moment in time my laptop has officially fallen apart so it is out of commission. I am going to France for a week next Tuesday and will try my best to schedule enough posts in the meantime, I won't be able to promote them or comment on other blogs like I usually do so if you could check back in a few days time it would mean such a lot to me. Thank you for reading, and thank you to everyone who takes the time to comment. I love reading them and always reply. Take care.
