Like I mentioned in my last post, Blank Canvas Cosmetics sent me a few products to review and the Master Series One Palette* (£30) was one of them. I have seen this gorgeous neutral palette floating around on the blogosphere and it immediately caught my eye. We all know eyeshadow palettes are my greatest weakness so I was definitely excited to receive this in the mail. I love that it is mostly matte shadows, in fact 11 matte shadows and 1 shimmer shade. If you want to hear more about what I think of this palette and see some swatches please keep reading.
SWATCHES
Top Row (see picture above)
Lily - cream coloured matte. Pigmented and smooth.
Goddess - champagne shimmer highlight shade. Great colour payoff, looks pretty packed on the lid.
Core - flesh coloured matte. Disappeared right into my skin, but very smooth texture.
Hibiscus - medium brown warm matte. Looks chalky on the arm but applies evenly with a brush.
Brazen - terracotta mattte. Not great colour payoff but ideal for a wash of colour.
Carmin - warm brickish brown matte. Stunning pigmentation both with a finger and a brush.
Bottom row (see picture below)
Cocoa - chocolate brown matte. Looks chalky on the arm but applies well with a brush.
Downtown - muddy brown cool toned matte. Very earthy toned brown, not my favourite shade.
Forzia - cement coloured brown matte. Great transition shade.
Hickory - deep cool brown matte. Slightly patchy, needs a little more work to blend nicely.
Strut - light brown with an orange undertone matte. Very soft and smooth shadow.
Corruption - matte black. Pretty disappointing, not a rich intense black but a good "deepener".
Honestly, when I swatched these on my arm I was disappointed. They didn't wow me with pigmentation or texture and a lot of them looked chalky and really similar in colour. However, they apply phenomenally on the eyes, really smooth and easy to blend. In addition, I experienced no fall out whatsoever. In spite of being pigmented and true to colour they weren't powdery at all which is practically unheard of. The shadows are all very similar in tone, there are a lot of browns and oranges but the colours work well together enabling you to create many looks and to top it all off Goddess is the perfect shimmer shade. You can use it packed heavily all over the lids or just as an inner corner highlight. Overall, I really like this palette. It doesn't look all that exciting but it is a great neutral palette and it contains every transition colour anyone could ever need. Thank you for reading my review. I would love to know what your favourite neutral palettes are, leave me a comment below. Hope you guys are having a great week, already it has been pretty hectic for me. Take care.
What are your favourite eyeshadow palettes?
Love ❤

I usually find that swatches turn out better than how they apply but thats great that these worked out and I think you can never go wrong with those shades!

DeleteIt's a shame that the swatches didn't work well on your arms, but I'm glad to hear that they wear well on the eyes! The shades do look in the palette but sometimes that's good for a neutral eyeshadow palette :)

I am sure you are better than you think! The trick is to build slowly and use a skin coloured shade to blend between steps if things are looking patchy xxx

It's a great neutral palette for sure x
DeleteI love a neutral palette! I haven't actually tried any of Blank Cosmetics makeup yet, so i really must check it out! I tend to make my own neutral palettes, usually from either MAC or Inglot, with a few MUG shadows as well.

The truth of the matter is that there are a lot of huge overall revenues when imprinting onto canvas instead of compelling artwork or photograph papers. There are a few purposes behind this, however the most conspicuous is that you can make an identical measured extended and fixed gallery grade canvas print for a lower cost than an outlined photograph with tangle and glass. buy here
