Powders are a life saver, it is only in the last two years that I have ventured into loose powder territory but prior to that I was, and still am, a big fan of pressed powders. They are so handy, portable, convenient and in my experience less intense than their loose counterparts, and of course there is much less mess involved which is always a bonus. Rimmel Stay Matte (£4) will always and forever hold a constant place in my heart, one of the best powders I have ever tried but this is a high end edit and these are the high end powders I reach for consistently. They are the ultimate fixers.
- Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder (£35) This is marketed as a foundation and allegedly can be used wet or dry. If applied with a sponge it definitely packs a decent amount of coverage but with a fluffy powder brush it is a gorgeous finishing powder. Great to use on top of any and all foundations whether they are heavy or sheer.
- Benefit Hello Flawless Pressed Powder (£28) Out of all of these this one makes the most noticeable difference to my skin, it gives me an airbrushed look in my opinion. It is a really beautiful, flawless powder but you want to be careful not to get too heavy. A good tip is to get a shade lighter than your skin that way it has an all over brightening effect which is gorgeous. This one is one I will always repurchase.
- Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder in Crystal (£27) The only sheer translucent powder in this line up and the reason I love it more than anything else is because it is truly undetectable, doesn't leave a powdery finish making your skin look lively and awake.
- MAC Cosmetics Mineralise Skin Finish in Medium Deep (£24.50) MAC is such a cult brand and I haven't tried very much of their products but their MSF powders are exquisite. If anyone knows a good dupe for them I am all ears. I have the shade Medium Deep which is my skin tone. I use this powder with the big powder brush I bought from Wilkos, trust me that duo is dynamite and it just fixes whatever time has wrought on your base makeup. I always keep this in my bag if I am travelling somewhere and then I'll do a quick swirl in the pan and then on my face and my friends always comment on how good my foundation looks.
I would love to hear about your favourite pressed powders, both high end and affordable, I have heard great things about the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Powder (£33) so that is definitely one I want to try and I believe Makeup Forever recently came out with Ultra HD Pressed Powders (£26). I am currently on holiday but will check back on Saturday when I am home and will be sure to return all comments and love shown on my recent posts. It really means a lot to me when you guys leave me comments so thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to do that. Hope you are all having a wonderful week. Thank you for reading. Take care.
