Urban Decay are never going to give up on their Naked collection, and why should they? I believe they recently came out with the Naked Perfume Oil and now the Naked Heat Palette has all but destroyed the internet. I have always been a massive fan of both the very first Naked palette and the gorgeous Naked 3 palette, but I am not a die-hard fan. I passed on the Naked Ultimate Basics after swatching it in store it just didn't wow me and the primarily cool-toned Naked 2 wouldn't be used much by me, I thought and was even advised by an Urban Decay Beauty Consultant to pass on the Naked Smoky as the first Naked palette would have me covered in that regard. Let us all push every other product in this line out of our minds for a second just to focus on this one: The Naked Heat Palette. This palette is already available in the US I believe, and the official release date is touted to be June 30th, I am hoping this applies to the UK as well. If any more information arises I will add it to this post. As always, their palettes cost $54 or £38. It contains twelve shadows and a dual-sided brush. This particular palette has plastic packaging and the standard full mirror.
I have seen a few disappointing arm swatches float around the internet which instantly left me skeptical but then I had a look at a few videos and looks created with this palette and was forced to re-evaluate my opinion. I know I am slightly late to the introduction of this palette so I don't want to bore you with a look at each shadow etc. I will link videos here and here where you can see all of that. Instead I just want to share my thoughts and hear yours. I am curious to hear what everyone thinks of this new palette and about the Urban Decay Naked range in general. Are you sick of it or can you not get enough? Will you buy or pass on it? What do you think of the colours?
This palette is very tonally cohesive, all the colours work seamlessly together and are arranged in a perfect gradient from light to dark, mostly warm-toned with a distinct deep almost burgundy tone. I wish they had been slightly more adventurous. With a name like Naked Heat I would expect some bright flaming reds, yellows and oranges and I think that would really take this palette to the next level but at the same time it is a neutral palette part of a neutral range so that shouldn't be a surprise. I think it is overall a beautiful palette, but should probably be called Subdued Heat or Slow Burn haha. I have seen some really lovely looks on people of all skin colours. I just don't think I will buy it at this time. I have made a massive order of eyeshadow palettes already and I can bet that I have every single shade in this palette six times over in other palettes.
I love Urban Decay, they make my favourite eyeshadows in fact, but I am trying to be less of a makeup junkie and more of a savvy makeup connoisseur and spend money where I need to fill gaps in my collection. Spending money wisely is a struggle for me because typically, and I am sure most of you can relate, if I see a new eyeshadow palette I want it. I love eyeshadow and eye makeup is my favourite. The Natasha Denona Sunset Palette for instance, divine, but instead of buying more warm toned palettes I am looking specifically for palettes with bright, harder-to-find colours. If you guys have any recommendations please let me know. I would love to hear your favourite palettes. Thank you for reading, please share your thoughts on Naked Heat in the comments. Take care.
What are your thoughts on Naked Heat?
I like the look of this but I feel like Urban Decay is a bit late to the party with the whole warmed tone palette. There has been so many other brands come out with palettes similar (like the ABH modern reconnaissance) so I think i'd try them before this. Thanks for the run-down on this palette though! I'll still keep an eye out for reviews in case it becomes a must-have palette haha.

Yeah I felt like they kind of missed the boat too tbh xxx
DeleteI am loving the shades but I agree about having these warm tones already. I'm not sure if I'm going to pick this up..may be not. I love the look of Natasha Denona palette but can't afford.

I have so many warm toned palettes as well, the ND palette is so expensive x
DeleteIt does look like a lovely palette! It's good you're going to give it a miss and just stick with what you've already bought though - that way you get more use from what you have already and you can make a better informed decision if you need to buy this after you're used some of your recently bought ones :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful weekend! :)

Thank you Mica, hope you are having a great week x
DeleteHmmm, I like the look of it, but don't feel I need this UD Naked palette xx
ReplyDeleteIndie// In Search of the Holy Grail
I feel the same way x
DeleteUD Slow Burn sounds better! Seriously though, as soon as I saw this I was not impressed: it looks exactly like the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, which I already have. So I'll have to pass on this one!

Haha, glad you like that Hannah, ooh I didn't think it would be similar to the Sweet Peach Palette that is very interesting. The Peach Palette has a bit more variety though so it might be the better option, thank you for reading x
DeleteSuch a good post! These shades look so good! I have a few palettes that are similar to this, never the less it is a great looking palette!

Thank you! Xx
DeleteI love the shades, but don't think that it would look good on our skin tone which is such a shame :( xx
ReplyDeleteKaushal Beauty did a 3 looks one palette on Naked Heat and it looks nice enough, but I wish there were some brighter more intense colours just to make it stand out from the crowd. Plus, there is no gold. I need a gold in my warm toned palette ja feel?
DeleteI love the Naked collection and really want to try this this product but because they are a bit late the party I feel like I already have all basis covered! xox
ReplyDeletewithlovefromamber.blogspot.co.uk
I think that is why so many are underwhelmed, it is one in a long line of warm toned orangey red palettes x
DeleteI love Urban Decay so much, you really can't go wrong with their products! I've seen some people complain about the swatches, but they look fine! The colours look beautiful!xx

UD is one of my favourite brands as well x
DeleteThis looks really pretty but I have so many similar shades in other palettes! x
ReplyDeleteJordan Alice

DeleteI love the shades in this palette, definitely looking to pick this one up soon! Xx
ReplyDeleteKez | acaciasdreams.com
I hope you like it!
DeleteThis looks really gorgeous and I might be tempted to pick it up but I feel like I already have so many similar shades in other palettes and singles so I don't know! I too want something different and unique. x
ReplyDeleteAnn-Marie | http://facetocurls.com
This is exactly how I feel, let's share the pain x
DeleteI will be buying this as I don't have many palettes in these shades range! I have not been so excited about Urban Decay ever since feeling disappointed with Naked Smokey so hopefully this will redeem it!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll love it, they are stunning shades and definitely worth it if you don't have any others like it. I love UD shadows x
DeleteI feel like I have a ton of eyeshadows just like these in my collection already, but I still want to pick it up because it's so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNicole | The Glam Surge
I feel the same way tbh, can never have enough eyeshadow palettes haha, a part of me is tempted x
Deletei like the color selection of this palette and was hearing mixed reviews about it. i will swatch it in store and see if i will get it! it looks pretty but the price is not so cheap so it has to be worth it!
ReplyDeleteI will do that same x
DeleteI love the warmth in this palette! I've been all about the warm orange tones lately so this is right on trend.

Alongcamekathy
Definitely the colour selection is bang on trend and so warm x
DeleteI want the entire HEAT collection from Urban Decay. I have all of their Naked palettes except the Smoky one. I think they knocked it out the park with this one. I don't think they're too late for the party! A lot of brands came out with so-so palettes in this color range. They took their time and got it right.

I really really want the eyeliners, they look stunning! I hope so, I haven't swatched it so I am keen to have a closer look in store when it is out x
DeleteI love makeup but don't do much research or anything so palettes like UD are easy breezy for me. I like these colors and they are different than what I have in my collection. I might put it on my Christmas list, but I don't need to have it.

ReplyDeleteAchieve for a hot water heater advisor is just to save you money. How might your water heater refer to your wallet? Almost certainly, one utility will probably be more affordable to use as opposed to other. My prediction is most households do not have a preference. https://www.smartheat.org.uk/
