Strangely, it feels more like summer today, the sun is shining so bright outside. The palette you see in these photos is the eyeshadow palette I have been using every single time I do my makeup. The Beauty Bakerie Naeopolitan Eyes Cream Palette (£40) is so gorgeous and comprises a unique selection of beautiful autumnal colours, a great seasonally appropriate product that everyone can love. Unlike eyeshadow, my one true love, lipsticks are not really on my radar this is not reflected by how many lip products I own. Through blogging, I have been fortunate to receive and try so many and as I rustled through my collection this weekend I found some real gems. So many of you adore lipsticks so this post is for you guys There is something for everyone from nudes to metallics.
Instead of discussing the shades alone, I want to go more in-depth and consider formulas, wear-time, finishes and price point. Lipstick, to me, is a product you can definitely save your money on as so many affordable brands produce just as good lipsticks as higher end companies. In some cases, even better. My preferences for lipsticks are warm-toned creamy nudes with a mostly matte finish, although lately I have been drawn to gloss. I didn't include glosses today as I swear by the NYX Intense Butter Glosses (£6), they are the best in my opinion and come in so many fab shades.
Le Metiere de Beaute Moisture Matte Lip Creme in Affinity (£40): The most expensive of the bunch but truly one of the most comfortable formulas as it is a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss. Unfortunately, the wear-time for this was disappointing but the colour alone, a dusky not-quite-plum, suits me to a tee which justifies the ridiculous price at point of purchase obviously.
Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick in Magni-Fig (£9): A beautiful purple that stands out from the traditional deep berries that pop up this time of year which is why I love it. It still carries a hint of summer, while still being deep enough for this season it still possesses the fun with its brighter hue.
B. Beauty Velvet Matte Liquid Lip In The Buff (£7): A surprise love for me as most liquid lipsticks I have tried have been drying and uncomfortable. This is not transfer-proof and doesn't set down straight away. The colour is gorgeous and for that reason alone I highly recommend it, the formula reminds me of the Jouer Lip Creams, really moisturising and hydrating on the lips.
Colour Pop Matte Lippie Stix in Grunge ($5) My favourite matte lipstick form, I wish I had purchased them all. They feel like nothing on the lips yet they have insane pigmentation. They are so comfortable to wear and look exceptional as they don't settle into any crevices, they just look smooth and beautiful and last so well.
MUA Luxe Velvet Matte Metallic Lip Lacquer in Pheonix (£3) A metallic lipstick that applies so smoothly you'll be shocked. I love that this lip lacquer has so much base pigment so you can wear it alone or as a topper and still pack a punch. This is the perfect holiday lip, but you will need to reapply.
The 24K Beauty Liquid Lip in Crimson ($6.50): An indie brand that displays obvious care and consideration with all of their products and their liquid lipsticks are the epitome of gorgeous products at a reasonable cost. This colour again is one that really stands out to be as it is so rich, deep and opaque like an oxblood red. Instead of being vampy it reads as sophisticated.
Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick in Brunette (£9): Possibly my favourite from the entire range, I don't own another colour like this, this deep brownish red with hints of orange is an autumn leaf in a lipstick and I am obsessed. The finish is matte, but not completely matte and the wear-time is impressive.
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia (£5) One of the first lipsticks I ever purchased and with good reason. I am convinced this creamy warm nude suits basically everyone on the planet. It is a fail-safe for me, a classic, affordable and appropriate for every occasion.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Mercy (£17): A truly unique colour that I think would be perfect for Halloween. To extend longevity I would advise filling in the lips with a purple lip liner first for maximum impact and colour payoff.
Thank you so much for reading. I haven't been posting as much as usual and I think the pressure of getting posts up for you guys when right now it is the last thing on my mind is starting to get to me a little. I will try to upload at least twice a week to take some of the pressure off and hopefully in time things will pick up again. I hope you understand, please share your favourite lipsticks in the comments below. I would love to read them. Hope you are having a great weekend. Take care.
What are your favourite lip products this time of year?
Love ❤

I love the look of the Bourjois in Brunette. That's definitely one I would enjoy using but I can't get on board this metallic lip trend. Its just not for me xxx

I gravitate towards berries and brick red this season and surprisingly realized that I am missing a brick red with brown undertones.
