FAIL | L'OREAL PURE CLAY DETOX WASH REVIEW & DEMO

I don't want to beat around the bush, if you recall I reviewed the L'Oreal Pure Clay Glow Scrub a while ago and completely fell in love with it. So much so, I just purchased a replacement and it is still just as fantastic as I recall. Because I loved it so much I thought I would try the Detox Wash which is also a part of the Pure Clay range as it claims to cleanse, clarify and detoxify the skin. It sounds like a product my acne-prone, junk-food-abused skin is crying out for. Ultimately, I detested this product. To the point where it is actually difficult to put into words how unpleasant of an experience using this product is for me. Which is unheard of, I love words. I uploaded a video so you can see what a mess this product is and I will attempt to talk you through why I ended up hating it so much.

It's a foaming product. My skin and foaming products are not on speaking terms. We have come to a mutual agreement to avoid each other. Imagine my surprise when this foams up like a discounted fresher's night in the student union. It leaves my skin feeling dry, tight, stripped of anything healthy and irritated. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of foam formed means it takes a hot minute to remove and inevitably gets in my mouth. It tastes foul by the way. I am actually frightened to look at the ingredients.

On the plus side, the packaging is splendid. I think L'Oreal are really taking their packaging to the next level, I love that it comes in a squeezy tube and the cap is screwed on, nice colour scheme, all very well thought out. It is also affordable, although prices do vary. At Feel Unique and Boots it retails for £6 and at Superdrug you can get it for £4.  As it is so drying and clay-based it might well be beneficial for treating breakouts, I haven't noticed a miraculous reduction but then I am eating Mr Kipling's finest baked goods on the regular so who knows? I cannot in good conscious recommend it to anyone in spite of the attractive price and I am truly sorry about that. I will continue to use it, because I am Indian and £4 is still £4 to me but I won't be enjoying a second of it. Watch my video below if you really want to see how much it sucks, please subscribe if you like. I don't post all that often but it would be lovely to connect with you all on a different platform.

Thank you so much for reading my review, you're the best. I hope you are having a great week so far. I have my first official blogger event tomorrow so wish me luck. I will try to take pictures and snaps (snapchat is alittlekiran). Of course, now that I finally have somewhere to go to I have spots popping up everywhere. Why does this always happen? Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' and if you have any video suggestions for YouTube I would love to hear them as well. Take care.

What was one skincare product you didn't get on with?
