FIRST LOOK | DESI X KATY DOSE OF COLORS ROUND II SWATCHES & DETAILS

Desi Perkins and Katy aka Lustre Lux took to YouTube just yesterday to reveal their second collection with Dose of Colors. Their first collaboration (post here) was met with mostly positive reviews and was obviously a success. So much so, that two of their products are going to be repeated and made available for purchase once again due to the high demand. The products being Over The Top lip gloss (£14) a clear intensely shiny gloss with gold reflects and Fuego (£22) highlighter a champagne gold creamy highlighter recently rocked by Beyonce, the queen herself.

Their new eyeshadow palette entitled Friendcation (£44) has really caught my eye, the swatches and colours look insanely beautiful and I am intrigued enough that if the collection does come to Beauty Bay which I think it will I might get my hands on this palette. The swatches are pictured below: Basic (a "basic" cream matte shade ideal for setting an eyelid base and just starting your look), Ccins (short for cappuccino, the spelling might be wrong, but they love cappuccinos as they explain in their video, a deep rich chocolate brown), Necessary (a light mid-tone brown matte also perfect for crease work), Dirty Money (olive green with an antique gold shift, insanely sparkly), Moment (an electric blue with a neon purple shift, just as sparkly as Dirty Money), Try Me (cranberry red with orange pink reflects, again insanely sparkly based on the swatches), Just a Kiss (a sheer reflective shade with not much of a base colour, perfect for adding on top of other shades to get the same kind of sparkle the other pigmented shades have), Girl Bye (pinkish red matte), Churro (rich warm brown, another great crease colour), Game Over (midnight black with silver reflects, inspired by wet asphalt and the galaxy, ideal for a really cool smoky eye).

Next is the Chasing the Sun highlight (£22), the same formula and packaging as Fuego. The name is inspired by the perfectly lit makeup photos they take using the sunshine, like golden hour in a pan. Very creamy, wet finish. Described as a golden bronze highlight, slightly warmer and deeper than Fuego which is a blinding champagne that is known for being flattering on a range of skin tones.

Time for lips. Desi and Katy created a new formula for their Velvet Liquid Lipsticks (£15), of which there are two. This formula is not completely matte or budge-proof. The idea is you are able to reapply them throughout the day and they feel really comfortable on the lips, not sticky, not dry or cracked. They keep your lips looking hydrated and healthy. The first is called My Main which is inspired by natural lip colours, it is a pretty nude with a slight pink undertone in a satin finish, Desi says it reminds her of Angelina Jolie's lips.

The next Liquid Velvet is designed by Katy, My Main was designed by Desi, Mauve Story is Katy's which is ironic because Katy famously hated mauve for a very long time. It is a muted, soft, cool-toned mauve shade. Katy credits the satin finish of the lipstick as to why she has embraced this mauve colour as it doesn't dry out her lips or exaggerate her lip lines.

Like More Creamer Please and No Shade there are two new lipsticks in the same formula and packaging, just a nice creamy regular lipstick (£13) formula. Hey Girl is the first shade which is described as a muted pink, perfect for every day and compatible with numerous different lip liners.

The second lipstick is called Aftermath (£13) which is bolder than the others, but still very autumnal and neutral, all of the lip products read quite neutral in this collection which is appropriate for this season. This colour is a rich autumn leaf, cognac colour that looks really beautiful and just makes me think of pumpkin spiced lattes and soft scarves. Can you tell I am excited for Autumn?

Over The Top's dirty wild sister is called The Most (£14), another stunning, incredibly shiny wet-looking lip gloss. Although it looks white in the tube it does go on clear so is suitable for wearing with other lip products but also looks incredible on its own. Great for when you want your lips to look bigger. This lip gloss is sheer with pink and cherry reflects which are only really visible in the light so doesn't read as garish or tacky. It's subtle but still looks really cool and is noticeable.

I am not one for lip products so although these all sound very nice, they re just not for me. It really is only the eyeshadow palette that I am seriously considering buying. I am excited for reviews and looks. You can watch their reveal video in full below.

Thank you so much for reading, another post about a new release but this one is actually pretty exciting. I hope you enjoyed reading about it. Please let me know what you think of this collection in the comments. Do you have your eye on anything? Did you buy anything from Round 1? Hope you are having a great week, it is my last week in London so it is bittersweet for me but I am happy I seem to slowly be getting back into blogging again. I love it. Have a lovely day. Take care.

Do you like Round II better than Round I?

Love
Kiran
