Glossier, as you know, is a fun and fresh brand always bringing out new, innovative products. We talked about the Zit Stick (post here) a while ago which unfortunately isn't available in the EU due to stricter guidelines regarding to certain ingredients. Despite this, I did go to the pop up shop in London a while back and pick up the Glossier You (£45 for 50ml). Perfume is very personal but if you are interested in this one here are my thoughts, it's going to be a quick one. If you are wondering why I haven't posted in such a long time, skip to the end and I will explain as much as I can at the moment.
This is marketed as a personal and intimate scent created for the pleasure of the wearer rather than others, for that reason it is not overpowering at all and is actually quite subtle. Often I forgot I was wearing a scent at all. I wanted to try it because the reviews are quite positive and the perfume smells different on everybody (which can be said for most perfumes I believe but I am not an expert). It's hard to describe because it consists of just a few notes, so it doesn't smell floral or fruity or sweet or even musky which are the usual descriptors that come to mind. I did think when I first applied it, that it smelled "clean" and it does smell good, but it faded so fast and wasn't something I noticed as the day went on each time I wore it, which depending on your preference might be a positive. I felt I had to use a lot to feel like I was wearing anything and generally I just didn't think it fit with my personality if that makes any sense.
I like scents that are more interesting and complex. for £44 I can get a 30ml bottle of Jo Malone's Nectarine Blossom and Honey which is honestly my favourite perfume I have ever tried I think I am going to buy another one as an extremely early Christmas gift to myself. I would love to know if you have tried this perfume and what you thought of it and Glossier in general. It seems I am just not cool enough, really want the Zit Stick though and maybe the Milky Jelly Cleanser. Comment your favourite scents below I would love to know what scents tickle your fancy, sorry I have been absent I just have been feeling really low and unmotivated for the past few weeks and each time I sat down to write it just felt really pointless. Hope that makes sense. Thank you for reading. Take care.
What scents do you like?
Love ❤

I still need to try glossier makeup and their skincare and now I need to add their fragances to the list - all their products look so good!

DeleteIt sounds interesting, although it's a shame it doesn't last long!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've been unmotivated with blogging too!

Thank you xx
DeleteI have a tiny vial sample of this scent. I like personal scents for when I am at home or going to places like school or hospital. You do not want to offend any sensitive noses at such places.

I haven't got the chance to try any of Glossier products. They're pretty promising though. I am a perfume hoarder! I can't help it, I love smelling good all the time. My favorite is definitely Flora by Gucci, Bombshell by VS and Vanilla by The Body Shop xx

I haven't tried much form Glossier, but I'm really curious about the skincare range. Too bad the fragrance isn't anything special but you're right, perfume is such a personal thing. Jo Malone can do no wrong and I absolutely adore their scents - my faves for this time of year are Wood Sage & sea salt, and Oak & Redcurrant. x

This scent sounds amazing! I use Trish McEvoy #6 and Sexy #9.

Interesting concept, but I totally agree, I prefer something that has a base to it rather than the chemical makeup to shift per individual. I hope you're feeling better and motivated enough soon! I go through periods of depression where I feel low and unmotivated too, so I know how you feel. Wishing you the best xo

I actually like subtle scents, but for the price, I think I'll just stick to my favorite Elizabeth Arden Green Tea perfume :)
ReplyDeleteI like and used some Glossier products but haven't tried the Zit Stick, I was interested in it until I learned it has Benzoyl Peroxide and that's not my fave anti-acne ingredient at all because it can irritate the skin. The Zit Stick has 5% of it. Plus, I saw 2 influencers who's skin got irritated by the Zit Stick, but we all have different skin so YMMV.
I tried the Milky Jelly Cleanser too, it's a fairly nice cleanser, though it can't really remove makeup, the rose scent is too strong for me, and it feels just like Cetaphil. I find it a really pricey. I prefer the Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Facial Wash tbh.

I have not tried any fragrance from Glossier. I have a few fragrances like Chanel No.5 is my all time favorite. Currently Valentino Donna is spicy floral is very long lasting. I like when a fragrance lasts a long time. :-)

I haven't tried Glossier as a brand and I really need to change that at some point.
